r. I now have almost 20% of the necessary funds. =) yay! I'm excited about the next couple of fundraising events like the garage sale at my dad's house and possibly something with buffalo wild wings, yummy!
It's definitely been hard to be home in Illinois with job searching and being hundreds of miles away from my closest friends, not to mention the hours with nothing to do. But
God is good. I was recently hired at Whole Foods which has been a blessing. I've realized that I haven't gotten a job by my own doing with the last 4 jobs that I've had. God has always placed someone in my life as a network and handed me these jobs to help me get through financially. They've always been on his timing. A restaurant I worked for in NY closed f
or renovations only a month after I started working there.
It was just enough time for me to meet someone who was the hostess at my next job, as well as develop a good relationship with a girl who would work at both restaurants with me.
God is good. Then with Whole Foods...it was the
17th place I applied to this summer. I had no idea that applying for a summer job would be so difficult. Anyways, I got a call back from them a week after I applied (and two weeks into summer) and turns out that the woman who would interview me attended the same church as my family when I was growing up.
God is good.
Finally, I'm very excited to read the new issue of
Vanity Fair. I've never read this magazine before, but I do follow product
(RED) and Bono is the guest editor of the July issue which is all about Africa and those who are trying to make a difference in the continent. I have to admit, I'm not even sure what Vanity Fair is usually about, but I love the fact that they dedicated a whole magazine to the people who are getting involved in Africa.
